Up ‘til Dawn

UTD Up ‘til Dawn is the only CBU campus wide, student led fundraiser benefiting the children of St. Jude Children’sResearch Hospital.  Students form teams and participate in various events to raise their donations from August to February.  At the end of the fundraising phase, Up ‘til Dawn sponsors a finale event, a twelve-hour celebration for the teams reaching and exceeding their goals.  These participants stay “up ‘til dawn” in honor of the patients treated at St. Jude.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a research, treatment, and education center where its physicians and scientists have succeed in rewriting the medical textbooks that categorized many diseases as “incurable.” St. Jude was founded by Danny Thomas in 1962 for the conquest of catastrophic diseases afflicting children.  His vision has turned into the single largest center in the United States for the treatment ofpediatric cancer and other childhood catastrophic diseases.

Back to St. Jude HomePatients at St. Jude are treated regardless of their ability to pay.  The American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC) is the fundraising arm of St. Jude that covers the patient’s treatment costs.  Daily operating costs for St. Jude are approximately $923,000.
