Rush Kappa Sig!
"Kappa Sigma is the most preferred men's fraternity in North America"
It has come again, that time of the year when the leaves are changing and school is about to start once again. On behalf of this Xi-Eta chapter of Kappa Sigma, I welcome all incoming freshman and transfer students to Christian Brothers University.
Upon arriving at the school, it is normal to feel out of place. For most it is their first time to be away from home. Here at the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, we try to promote a fellowship amongst fellow students to help one another in these years. College is without a doubt the most important and influential years of your adult life. Here at Kappa Sigma we strive to make sure that you are prepared for the coming years by our never ending goal of building better men. We focus on the four cornerstones of which our great establishment is built: fellowship, scholarship, service, and leadership.
"More men choose Kappa Sigma than any other men's fraternity"
So when you arrive at Christian Brothers University, feel free to find a brother who will be more than happy to help you adjust to your new surroundings and situations. He will be even happier to tell you about what we do as brothers of Kappa Sigma and how it has helped him out so far in life and why we would be happy to offer you the chance to join our beloved order.
Throughout the first few months you will routinely see us around campus, doing service projects, throwing parties, and leading the campus for the betterment of the students.
We have brothers who do it all. SGA members, Intramural Commission, IFC members, the theater group, members in the proffesional mechanical, civil, computer, and electrical engineering as well as biology and buisness organizations. We are a large part of the lacrose team (founded by one of our recent graduates in fact), soccer team, and intramural program. While we currently have no members on the basketball or baseball team, we do make a showing at many of their games to voice our love of the teams and school. In general, youll be hard pressed to not run into one of our brothers. Then there are the range of interests we sport. There are brothers who can dominate in a game of Super Smash Brothers, score the high score on a math test, score the winning goal in a game, or be seen on stage.
For further reading this site contains some information about some of our history like its origins from the University of Bologna in 1400, some further background on the four corner stones and the Star and Crescent, and a list of famous alumni who have proudly worn the badge as captains of industry, hit record and movie/tv makers, and even worn to the moon. You can also read about how Kappa Sigma is one of the largest fraternitys in North America, as well as how it is the largest growing fraternity. Or maybe you can read about the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund, the oldest of its kind which routinely gives out hundreds of thousands of dollars to the undergrad brothers of the order.
We are a proud fraternity full of leaders, scholars, servicemen, and brothers. We are always interested in expanding our numbers to better serve us and our community. If you are interested email me, our rush chair Kevin Rooney, or just find a brother wearing letters. Remember, Bononia Docet (our motto meaning Bologna Teaches).
