SEARCY, Ark.--One graduate and twenty
undergraduate members of Alpha Chi, the national
college honor society, have been named recipients
of the society's fellowships and scholarships for
2004-2005. A total of $45,000 is to be awarded,
with one Joseph E. Pryor Alumni Fellowship of
$5,000, 10 H. Y. Benedict Fellowships of $2,500
for the first year of graduate or professional
study and 10 Alfred H. Nolle Scholarships of
$1,500 for the senior undergraduate year.

Cleveland, Tenn.; Linda Harris, Roanoke College,
Salem, Va.; Toni Hoelscher, Texas Lutheran

Pepperdine University, Malibu, Calif.; Maura
Mills, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts,
North Adams, Mass.; Manish Patel, Christian
Brothers University, Memphis, Tenn.; Christienne
Robertson, East Central University, Ada, Okla.;
Trisha Stephens, Belmont University, Nashville,
Tenn.; Rachel Tinon, Huntington College,
Huntington, Ind.
Nolle alternates are 1st, William Whiting, University of Arkansas at Monticello, Ark.; 2nd, Erin Earley, Christopher Newport University, Newport News, Va.; 3rd, Cassie Gross, Columbia College, Columbia, Mo.; 4th, Annessa Stagner, West Texas A&M University, Canyon, Tex.; 5th, Jonathan Lundquist, Taylor University - Upland, Ind.
There were 21 nominees for the Pryor award, 76 for the Benedict and 66 for the Nolle. Benedict and Nolle nominations were limited to no more than two nominees from each institutional chapter.
Alpha Chi has chapters at some 300 institutions in almost every state and in Puerto Rico. Inducting no more than the top 10 percent of juniors and seniors in all academic fields, the society registers more than 11,000 new members each year.
