All About Alpha Tau!

Making a Difference
Alpha Sigma Tau participates in the widest variety of philanthropies,
from Habitat for Humanity to eating disorders awareness,
from raising money for Pine Mountain Settlement School to
supporting the Cynthia Milk Fund at LeBonheur Children's Hospital.

AST is also active in other campus philanthropies;
in fact, our Anchored to Service was one of the highest
fundraising teams in all of Up 'til Dawn for 2006-2007!

Academic Excellence
Alpha Sigma Tau has the highest GPA in Panhellenic. In addition
to earning the 2007 Greek Award and the 2007 Lasallian Spirit Award
for academic achievement, Order of Omega (Greek honor society)
has more Taus than members of any other Greek organization
on campus! Our Lucky Clovers have also placed every year (2004,
2005, 2006) that there has been a Battle of the Brains competition!

National Sorority Honors
Our chapter received AST national awards for the 2005-2006 best new
member program and Top Tau awards in 2004, 2005, and 2007!
Our chapter also has alumnae on the Alpha Sigma Tau National
including the Alumnae Affiliation Program Coordinator,
an Educational Consultant, and the National Music Coordinator.

Unique Traditions
In addition to campus-wide traditions such as Greek Week,
Homecoming Week, painting The Rock, and more, we are the
first and only sorority on campus to have a sweetheart!
This year's sweetheart is Aaron Lamey of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
As the newest Panhellenic sorority on campus, Taus enjoy
creating new traditions of sisterhood and excellence!

Greek Life
We're a close group, and we love our sisters - but we have fun
with other Greeks too! In Spring 2007, AST paired with Tau Kappa
for Homecoming Week and co-sponsored Eating Disorders
Awareness Week with Sigma Alpha Epsilon. For fall 2007, we
are planning a movie night with Sigma Gamma Rho!

Sorority Spirit!
In 1899, In Ypsilanti, Mich.,
Eight great girls sat right down and made themselves a wish!
They made the best sorority, the best you'll ever see!
They made our colors green and gold,
We call it AST!
Fire it up, AST, fire it up!
Fire it up, AST, fire it up!
So to heck with all the rest, 'cause we know we are the best!
Fire it up, AST, fire it up!

Best of all, AST is so much more than a club - our sorority shares the ideal of sisterhood.

The yellow rose, the flower of friendship, is a fitting symbol for our sisterhood.
